Man, we were beat!
After driving for 13 hours straight, we finally got to Arambol at around 5:30 in the evening. The sun was just setting, making for a pretty amazing sight. We were all exhausted – barely any sleep the night before. All we wanted to do was flop onto the beds in our Lotus Sutra Beach Resort hotel room. But honestly, a part of us was really longing to see the beach! It took us a while to find our place, the Lotus Sutra Beach Resort. We parked the car on the side of the road because the parking lot looked confined. It wasn't exactly what we expected! So, I asked my hubby to ask someone for directions to the main entrance to the resort. It turned out, we had to take this super narrow road to get there. And guess what? This thin road was actually Arambol Beach Road itself! We were worried that our car wouldn't even pass through there, especially after that long drive. But, we did it at last. Crazy, right?
We did have a little adventure finding the parking space. Luckily, the real parking lot for Lotus Sutra was huge! And we were happy that finally we found the right destination.
At Last we checked in Lotus Sutra Beach Resort!
Checking in was a breeze. We came to know from the reception that they only have sea-facing rooms in their wooden cottages. I had actually booked premium family rooms, which faced the garden. These rooms were cemented and were not in cottage style. I booked this resort via Agoda. I glanced through all the pictures and we were a family of four! Looking at those pics in the booking site, I personally felt that cottage rooms will be small for us. However, if you are a couple. You may opt for cottages.
Our Room
The only downside was that the balcony overlooked another hotel's balcony, so there wasn't much privacy. Despite that, the room itself was spacious and very comfortable. And Yes, you have huge curtains though to cover up the entire glass balcony.
Unique Bathroom, But...
The bathroom was definitely one of a kind! It had a whole wall made of glass, which meant not much privacy. Thankfully, there was a white curtain, but it wasn't ideal. Maybe these rooms were designed for very romantic getaways? That's what I thought!Despite the bathroom situation, I loved the lighting in both the bathroom and the main room. It had a really cool, modern aesthetic vibe. Plus, there was always hot water available, and the room itself was very clean.
Great Value for Money!
For the price (Rs. 2500/- per night), I was really happy with the overall experience. The room had a premium feel for such a reasonable price! If you'd like to see more details about my stay, check out my YouTube channel for a video tour.Peaceful Gardens and a Refreshing Pool
The resort offers a variety of rooms, with some featuring a premium pool view. Also some premium cottages facing the sea. However, I discovered an interesting detail. Apparently, during peak season and festive holidays (Christmas and New Year), the pool area can get quite lively and crowded with music and activity. So, if you're seeking for some peace of mind like me (I am an introvert at heart!), opting for the garden-facing rooms might be the perfect choice.
Rustic Charm and Delicious Food
We ordered a selection of Indian dishes during our meal times, we enormously enjoyed all the meals. The cook was really skilled. You can order here continental as well as North Indian Cuisine. They offer fresh fruit juices and we found them very refreshing. However, South Indian food is not served here.
Do try out their seafood. We loved it. However, the Chicken Pakora (chicken fritters) were made up of besan (gramflour). We didn't quite like the taste.
Live Entertainment and a Beachfront View
The real star of the show, however, is just steps away. Beyond the restaurant lies the gateway to Arambol Beach, a mere two-minute walk from the resort. The best part? This rooftop restaurant offers breathtaking ocean views, allowing you to enjoy your meal with the sound of waves crashing in the background.
